Spencer Jones wins Broadcast Digital Award

Spencer Jones has won the Broadcast Digital Award for Best Scripted Online Short for his ten minute short SPENCER JONES' CHRISTMAS. Cave Bear and Tiger Aspect produced the short which was one of Sky Comedy's Christmas Shorts. Spencer wrote and starred in the tale of a family man who refuses to let Christmas be a failure and so improvises decorations and presents.

According to the Judges: "Most notable was the project's quirky reliance on almost silent, physical comedy, which gave the short a distinctive feel. The project was shot in two days with a stripped-back crew, using innovative production techniques."

Judges also described the "warm-hearted farce" as "utterly hilarious and brilliantly executed." Broadcast reported that the "judges were convinced that Spencer Jones's warm-hearted farce was the strongest [nominee], and it prompted effusive praise.

Spencer is currently developing a project with Sky and Cave Bear off the back of the short as well as another scripted project with the BBC. He will also shortly be taking two shows to the Edinburgh Festival: 2015’s hit SPENCER JONES IS THE HERBERT IN PROPER JOB (the Underbelly / Soho Theatre) and new show HERBERT IN EGGY BAGEL (Heroes / Soho Theatre).
