Amit Gupta’s New Film "Jadoo" to Premiere at Berlin

British writer and director Amit Gupta will premiere his second feature film Jadoo at the 63rd Berlin International Film Festival, on Thursday 14th February. Jadoo tells the story of how it takes a daughter's wedding to reunite two feuding restaurant-owning brothers. The film, which features Amara Karan, Harish Patel, Kulvinder Ghir and Madhur Jaffrey (with Roger Pratt BSC as DoP, score by Stephen Warbeck and Production Design by Adrian Smith), will be followed by a dinner with a menu by Michelin-starred chef Tim Raue. Amit's first feature film Resistance, starring Andrea Riseborough, Michael Sheen, Iwan Rheon and Tom Wlaschiha, was released in 2011. It received 3 BAFTA Cymru nominations, with Sharon Morgan taking home the award for Best Actress. The film was a Cinevision Award Nominee at the Munich Film Festival and earned Amit a Best First Film Award nomination from the Writers Guild of Great Britain. Jadoo is one of only three UK fiction features to be in Official Selection at Berlin this year, from an estimated 8000 entries.
