Out Of Joint’s CIPHERS spied on tour

Blanche McIntyre’s production of Dawn King’s new play, CIPHERS, has now opened at the Northcott Theatre, Exeter, before embarking on a UK tour.  Produced by Out Of Joint, the show is designed by James Perkins, with lighting by Gary Bowman and sound design by Gregory Clarke.

Blanche, James and Gary have previously collaborated with Dawn King on FOXFINDER at the Finborough Theatre (which was also listed in the Independent’s top five picks of 2011 and for which Blanche won the Critics’ Circle Most Promising Newcomer Award) and this new play examines a world of spies and double agents.

A young woman is found dead. Her sister sets out to find out what happened, and stumbles into a world of secrets and subterfuge that makes her question who Justine really was. How well can you ever know someone who lies for a living?

CIPHERS plays at the Northcott Theatre until Saturday 19th October and will then tour at the following venues:-

Everyman Theatre (Cheltenham): 22nd to 26th October
Tobacco Factory Theatre (Bristol): 29th October to 2nd November
Oxford Playhouse: 6th to 9th November
Traverse Theatre (Edinburgh): 12th to 16th November
Warwick Arts Centre: 19th to 23rd November
Bush Theatre: 14th January to 8th February
