Anastasia Palchikova was one of the most sought-after screenwriters and showrunners in Russia, and one of the most prominent Russian directors. Anastasia was awarded the Best Screenwriter Award by the Russian Film Academy for her film BOLSHOY, which revolves around a ballerina vying for a place at the Bolshoy Theatre. She also received a nomination for Best Screenplay for her dramedy HER NAME WAS MUMU, based on the true story of a young woman sent to discredit and expose prominent oppositionists of the government. Anastasia's most recent series, MUTUAL CONSENT, addressing the investigation of a sexual assault, ranked among the top series in Russia.
Nastia's feature directorial debut was her semi-autobiographical film MASHA, a coming-of-age drama about a girl growing up in the Russian mob who dreams of becoming a jazz singer. The film won multiple awards in Russia and abroad, including Best Debut Feature at Russia's main film festival (Kinotavr) and Best Rising Actress at the London Film Festival.
Nastia is vehemently outspoken against the Russian invasion in Ukraine and, as a result, left the country. She was banned in Russia, and all of her projects were frozen, including a 12-episode drama EFFORT, which she served as a screenwriter and was supposed to direct, and the feature she wrote, THE DEED, a contemporary feminist drama.
Nastia is now a permanent resident of London, developing British and international projects.
