Horatio Hirst

Horatio Hirst is an actor, writer, producer, and showrunner. Prior to this, he was a professional football/soccer player for Championship side Sheffield United in the north of England. On the acting front, Horatio most recently starred as Bishop Grimketel, a recurring role in the Netflix series 3 of Vikings: Valhalla, and Charlie Bowdre, an ongoing role in the MGM+ series 2 part 2 of Billy the Kid, both of which were released in 2024. He will soon be reprising his role on Billy The Kid’s third and final season, premiering at the end of 2025. On the writing front, Horatio’s show Bloodaxe, which tells the story of one of the most famous Viking warriors Erik Bloodaxe, has recently been greenlit by Amazon and will begin filming in the summer of this year. He will be writing, executive producing and showrunning alongside his father and writing partner Michael Hirst. Horatio also has a number of other shows in development, including a historical drama with Karga7 based on a bestselling book, a sports drama with Fifth Season, and the previously announced in Variety, “A Day Of Fire”, with Amazon/MGM and Scott free, which recounts the days leading up to the eruption of Mount Vesuvius.
