Jen is a screenwriter and writer from London. A former Primary School Teacher, Jen cut her teeth in stand-up comedy, taking three shows to the Edinburgh Fringe, with her one-woman show being selected as part of the Soho Rising Festival at Soho Theatre. She also performed her live stand-up set for the BBC Asian Network which aired on BBCiplayer and has hosted her own Radio 1 podcast.

Jen has always loved bringing characters to life, whether it be on stage or in a script. She has a passion for writing about identity, belonging and play with a comedic twist. Her CBBC short, ‘The Main Part’,  based on her own experiences growing up as a mixed-race girl, was nominated for a BAFTA in 2021. She has continued to write on various children’s animations and has written songs and sketches for Horrible Histories.

Jen has always wanted to write books, having fond memories of sharing picture books with her class at the end of the school day, or reading funny chapters aloud during wet play.

She lives for her favourite things, which include; Masala Dosas, chips, the theatre, London, her partner Guy and her adopted Tonkinese cat Claudia Slinkleman.

She has been eagerly working on her own stories which she is now excited to share with the world.
