Jonathan is a London-based set and costume designer with over 30 years experience designing for theatre, opera, ballet and film worldwide. He has designed major productions for the West End, Broadway, many of the major theatre production companies in the United Kingdom including The Royal National Theatre, Shakespeare’s Globe, Donmar Warehouse and West Yorkshire Playhouse.
He designed sets and costumes for the Tony Award-winning production of Journey’s End and is twice Tony-nominated for his designs for Farinelli and the King, for which he also won a Drama Desk Award. In the UK he is the winner of a UK Theatre Award and has received two Olivier Award nominations.
In recent years Jonathan has expanded his work for the screen, designing costumes for a number of shorts and features. In 2021 he worked as Assistant Costume Designer to Consolata Boyle on Enola Holmes 2 for Netflix.
