Alice Birch wins the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize

This is the third time that Alice Birch has been shortlisted for the playwriting prize, with Many Moons in 2012 and Revolt. She said. Revolt again. in 2015 both making it into past finals.

The winning play is Anatomy of a Suicide which premiered at London’s Royal Court Theatre in 2017.

The prize, which was established in 1978, celebrates women playwrights who write in the English language.
