ARTHUR & GEORGE arrive to Monday nights
Martin Clunes returns to ITV1 this coming Monday March 2nd at 9pm, playing the celebrated novelist and physician Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in a three-part adaptation of Julian Barnes’ acclaimed novel, ARTHUR & GEORGE.
Set in 1906 in Staffordshire, Hampshire and London, the drama, adapted by Ed Whitmore and directed by Stuart Orme, follows Sir Arthur and his trusted secretary, Alfred ‘Woodie’ Wood as they investigate the case of George Edalji, a young Anglo-Indian solicitor who was imprisoned for allegedly mutilating animals and writing obscene letters.
Joining Martin in this drama, based on true events in the life of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and featuring the hair & make-up talents of Nic Collins, is a prestigious cast which includes Hattie Morahan as Jean Lackie, Art Malik as Reverend Shapurji Edalji and Alan Mckenna as Inspector Campbell.
