BAFTA Winners 2020
The winners of the 2020 BAFTA Awards have been announced and we are thrilled to have had a host of UA clients take home wins!
Sian Clifford took home the BEST FEMALE PERFORMANCE IN A COMEDY PROGRAMME award for her performance in Fleabag.
It was an amazing night for Stath Lets Flats which won the BEST SCRIPTED COMEDY award. Created, written by and starring Jamie Demetriou, the series also stars Natasia Demetriou, Dustin Demri-Burns, Ellie White, Nick Mohammed, and David Mumeni, with production design by Hannah Purdy Foggin.
Jamie Demetriou also took home the BEST MALE PERFORMANCE IN A COMEDY PROGRAMME and the BEST WRITER: COMEDY award for his Channel 4 series, bringing the total number of BAFTAs for Jamie and the series to three.
Chernobyl won the award for the BEST MINI-SERIES, which starred Jessie Buckley, Caoilfhionn Dunne, Gerard Kearns, Adam Lundgren, Ian Pirie and James Cosmo. The prosthetic make-up artist was Lucy Sibbick.
Emmerdale took home the BEST SOAP & CONTINUING DRAMA award. It features performances from Charley Webb, Bhasker Patel, Anna Nightingale. Episodes were directed by George Siougas and Ruth Carney.
VIRGIN MEDIA’S MUST-SEE MOMENT (voted for by the public) was awarded to Gavin and Stacey for the ‘Nessa Proposes to Smithy’ scene. The show was created, written by and starred James Corden.
