The first episode of the THE HOLLOW CROWN airs this Saturday

This weekend sees the first instalment in THE HOLLOW CROWN series arrive on our screens, in the form of Henry VI part one.

The series contains three episodes, the first two of which are co-written by Ben Power. All three are cut by Gareth C. Scales and feature costumes designed by Nigel Egerton. Starring across the series are Samuel West as the Bishop of Winchester, Jason Watkins as Suffolk and Christopher Godwin as the Keeper.

Based on Shakespeare's history cycles, THE HOLLOW CROWN takes in the three parts of Henry VI as well as Richard III, condensed down into three episodes which will be played out over the next three Saturdays. This weekend will see us introduced to the power politics of the monarchy and court following the death of Henry V in 1422, leading to the War of the Roses.

Tune in to BBC2 at 9pm, Saturday 7th May.
