GOD'S OWN COUNTRY premieres at Sundance
GOD'S OWN COUNTRY, the feature film debut of Director Franics Lee, has its World Premiere at the Sundance Film Festival tonight (Mondy 23rd January) and the critics have been unanimous in their praise, with Peter Bradshaw in the Guardian describing it as "tough, sensual, unsentimental, with excellent lead performances". With cinematography cinematography by Joshua James Richards and costume design by Sian Jenkins, the film explores the romantic relationship that develops between young farmer Johnny and Romanian worker Gheorghe over the course of a lambing season on a Yorkshire farm and "the resulting heart-swell", according to Guy Lodge of Variety, "feels thoroughly earned". With backing from the BFI and Creative England, the film will hopefully be hitting UK cinema screens later this year.
