Jim Field to illustrate new children's book from JK Rowling

Hachette Children's Group have announced JK Rowling's next children's book, The Christmas Pig, to be illustrated by Jim Field.

The Christmas Pig will be a heartwarming, page-turning adventure about one child’s love for his most treasured toy, and how far he will go to find it.  It’s a standalone story, unrelated to any of J.K. Rowling’s previous work, and is suitable for children 8+: a tale for the whole family to fall in love with. It will be simultaneously published on Tuesday 12th October 2021 in the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland and India by Hachette Children’s Group, in the US and Canada by Scholastic, in over twenty other languages by other publishers and as an audiobook in English, Spanish, German, French, Japanese and Italian by Audible. The new book will be published as a “gorgeously gifty hardback”, with full-colour jacket and featuring nine black and white spreads and decorative inside art from illustrator Jim Field.

Jim Field is the award-winning illustrator of the bestselling Oi! Series written by Kes Gray, the hilarious Rabbit and Bear young fiction series written by Julian Gough, and several books in partnership with Rachel Bright. His debut picture book as an author/illustrator, Monsieur Roscoe, was published in 2020.
