KENREX comes to the Southwark Playhouse
We are thrilled to announce that Jack Holden’s KENREX is coming to the Southwark Playhouse from 14 February to 16 March 2025 after a sold-out run at Sheffield Theatres’ Tanya Moiseiwitsch Playhouse where it received excellent reviews.
KENREX is part True Crime, part Western, with a foot-stomping live Americana soundtrack. The play explores the events of 10 July 1981 in Skidmore, Missouri, when town bully Ken Rex McElroy was shot dead in broad daylight, reportedly with 60 witnesses, none of whom claimed to have seen the incident.
Holden performs the one-person show, embodying multiple characters alongside live music written and performed by composer John Patrick Elliott. Ed Stambollouian directs the production, which features an original Americana-inspired score.
