Louisa Young's TWELVE MONTHS AND A DAY pre-empted by Putnam in the US
The highly-anticipated next novel from Louisa Young, TWELVE MONTHS AND A DAY - pitched as TRULY, MADLY, DEEPLY for our times - has been sold to Tara Singh Carlson at Putnam in a pre-empt for the US rights. The deal was agreed via Eleanor Jackson at Dunow, Carlson & Lerner on behalf of Ariella Feiner.
TWELVE MONTHS AND A DAY is the story of two couples whose beautiful, ordinary love stories are cut short by death, leaving two bewildered, romantic ghosts desperate to help their partners left on earth to navigate their newly widowed lives, and the fresh love story that emerges.
Louisa is the author of MY DEAR I WANTED TO TELL YOU which was shortlisted for the Costa prize, and most recently her memoir YOU LEFT EARLY which Emma Thompson called 'extraordinarily powerful.'
UK rights are with Suzie Doore at Borough Press.
