Manchester Theatre Awards nominees
Theatres across the Greater Manchester area go head to head in the annual Manchester Theatre Awards shortlist and UA are proud to feature prominently in the nominations.
Dominic Marsh has been nominated for Best Actor in a Visiting Production for his role in Dead Dog in a Suitcase (and other Love Songs), while Louise Brealey holds the fort in Best Actress in a Visiting Production for Constellations.
Lord of the Flies has also been nominated for Best Ensemble, in which Michael Ajao plays Maurice. Best Production features An Enemy of the People as designed by James Cotterill, as well as So Here We Are which starred Jade Anouka and which has also been nominated for Best New Play. This is alongsideThe Rolling Stone written by Chris Urch.
Twelve Angry Men, directed by Christopher Haydon is nominated in the Best Visiting Production category and which Michael Pavelka designed. Mike Gunning's Lighting Design has also been recognised in Inkheart, nominated for Best Design and Cuddles, designed by James Turner, has been nominanted for Best Studio Production.
Best Musical nominations include Mack and Mabel, for which Jonathan O'Boyle was Associate Director and which also starred Gunnar Cauthery, and Anything Goes, as designed by Richard Kent.
The Special Entertainment category features Moominland Midwinter - also nominated for design - adapted from Tove Jansson's books by Hattie Naylor.
