PHILOMENA selected for competition at Venice

Jeff Pope’s PHILOMENA has been selected for competition at this year’s Venice Film Festival. 

Directed by Stephen Frears and starring Judi Dench, Steve Coogan and Sophie Kennedy Clark as Young Philomena, the film tells the story of an Irish woman seeking the son she was forced to give up for adoption.

The Weinstein Company have taken US rights and Pathe will release in the UK and Ireland on 1^st November.
