PHILOMENA wins Best Screenplay at Venice

Jeff Pope's PHILOMENA has walked away with the Best Screenplay award at this year's Venice Film Festival.

Garnering rave reviews and a lengthy standing ovation at it's world premiere, the film charts the moving, funny and at times shocking true story of one woman’s search for her lost son, with Judi Dench in the title role and Steve Coogan co-starring.  

The film will recieve its UK premiere as part of this year's BFI London Film Festival on Oct 16 at the Odeon Leicester Square, ahead of Pathé’s UK release date of Nov 1.

The North American premiere was held on Sunday last at the Toronto Film Festival.
