THE RACER premiers on Friday 18th December
THE RACER will be in cinemas and available to view on all streaming platforms from Friday 18th December. Co-written by Ciaran Cassidy, the intense and thrilling film tells the story of the highs and lows of elite sport. Dom Chabol is preparing for his last Tour de France when he is unexpectedly dropped from the team. His best friend Sonny (Iain Glen), who has kept him at the top of his game through illegal doping, is unable to provide reassurance about his future. Dom meets Lynn, a young Irish doctor, and this starts to soften the blow. Over time, Dom becomes resigned to, and even positive about, civilian life. Just as he prepares to go home, another teammate is knocked off the Tour and Dom is brought back into the fold. Years of doping have started to take a toll on his body, and it is touch and go whether he will be able to get his performance back up to scratch in time. THE RACER is described as ‘an examination of the life-threatening pain and physical punishment world-class athletes will endure to rise to the top.’ Will Dom finally have the glory that has eluded him his whole career, or is it too late?
