The Ruins Of Civilisation

Penelope Skinner's The Ruins of Civilisation opened off Broadway in New York last week to rave reviews.

A futuristic Doll's house at Manhattan Theatre Club that doesn't seen futuristic at all. Playwright Penelope Skinner offers a powerful portrait of an anguished woman fixating on the prospect of a baby as a source of affection, hope and escape. The play concerns a couple, played by Tim daly and Rachael Holmes, who are "living their married lives within the constraints and norms of a new world order."

'A meaty dystopian drama' (NBC)

'A dystopian domestic horrorshow' (Alexis Soloski - The Guardian) ★★★★
