Sailing Somewhere Opens at Brasserie Zedel

Counting down the days until she docks, a cruise ship singer entertains punters in the Starlight Lounge, riffs with her drug-addled pianist and drinks to pass the time. The antics of the passengers and crew range from obscene to ridiculous - but she is facing a painful dilemma: to be reunited with her estranged daughter or not. Starring Suanne Braun (Mamma Mia!, Netflix’s The Princess Switch and Poliakoff’s upcoming Summer of Rockets) this one-woman play by United Agents’ client Matthew Hurt (“Excellent, compelling” ★★★★★ Sunday Telegraph on The Man Jesus) is a bittersweet portrayal of a mother’s love amidst the booze-soaked absurdity of life at sea.

With original songs by Conor Mitchell (NY Musical Theatre ‘Best Score’), Sailing Somewhere played to enormous acclaim in Johannesburg and now makes its UK premiere.
