Selina Cartmell announced as Artistic Director of Gate Theatre

Dublin's Gate Theatre has announced today that Selina Cartmell will take up position as Artistic Director of the historic theatre from January 2017.

Taking over from Michael Colgan, Selina becomes the first woman to lead the building and the first new Artistic Director in 33 years.

Selina has won three Irish Times Awards for her work in Ireland and has directed work in Ireland, the UK and internationally.  She established Siren Productions in 2004.  

Her previous work for the Gate includes Catastrophe, Festen and Sweeney Todd.
