SKY 1 announces YONDERLAND

Sky1 has commissioned YONDERLAND, a new comedy series by the team behind CBBC's multi BAFTA and British Comedy Award winning sketch show HORRIBLE HISTORIES, which stars Jim Howick.

Alongside fellow Horrible Histories cast Mathew Baynton, Martha Howe-Douglas, Simon Farnaby, Laurence Rickard and Ben Willbond, Jim Howick will write and star the eight-part series which follows 33-year old Mum Debbie Maddox (Howe-Douglas) who unexpectedly finds herself in an extraordinary world accessed by a portal in her kitchen, inhabited by a collection of eccentric (and usually idiotic) characters, some of whom happen to be puppets, with only an Elf by her side. 

As well as the acclaimed cast, the show (produced by Working Title Television) will also feature puppets from Baker Coogan, long-time collaborators with the Jim Henson Company, and is set for transmisison in 2014.
