Super Happy Magic Forest adaptation gets release date, starring several UA clients
Brand-new BBC Children’s and Education animation sees Spencer Jones, Rasmus Hardiker and Michelle Asante voice woodland characters on a fun-filled adventure through the Magic Forest, in Super Happy Magic Forest. Based on Matty Long’s series of children’s books of the same name, it is a fun for all the family comedy quest series featuring five heroes, brought together by their mutual love of questing, picnics and frolicking.
An international broadcast collaboration with BBC, RAI, ZDF, Canal+ and ABC Australia the 52 x 11 minutes series will bring to life the world created in the books, which were first published by Oxford University Press in 2015, in a colourful 2D animation for 7+ years. Produced by Tiger Aspect Kids & Family, with Movimenti Production, Monello Productions and Zodiak Kids & Family France (all part of Banijay Kids & Family). Exec Producers are Tiger Aspect Kids & Family’s MD Tom Beattie (Mr Bean: The Animated Series) and Jeff ‘Swampy’ Marsh (Phineas and Ferb).
Super Happy Magic Forest will air on CBBC and BBC iPlayer on Monday 7 October.
This is a project especially close to our hearts here at United Agents and United Voices as a whole, as not only is Matty Long represented at United Agents by Jodie Hodges, but we also have 3 of our talented actors in the cast (Spencer Jones, Rasmus Hardiker and Michelle Asante).
Matty Long is an award-winning author and illustrator. He holds a first-class degree in Illustration and a Masters in Children's Book Illustration from the prestigious Cambridge School of Art. His debut picture book Super Happy Magic Forest was voted best new picture book of 2015 by a voting panel of 12,000 children and was shortlisted for the Waterstones Children's Book Prize. It has since expanded into three picture books and two young fiction titles.
Congratulations to Matty and his team, the incredible voice cast, and everyone involved in this wonderful project.
