THE TRIAL: A MURDER IN THE FAMILY starts this Sunday, on Channel 4 at 9pm, and continues nightly from 21-25 May.

The five-part series, based on a fictional case, was shot by Simon Tindall and features hair and makeup design by Claire Whitely. 

The series follows the case of Simon Davis, who is on trial for the strangulation of his estranged wife, Carla. The alleged killer is prosecuted and defended by real QCs in a courtroom chaired by the retired judge, Brian Barker. Jury members are members of the public, hearing evidence from experts and witnesses who include a mix of actors and members of the public. Much like its predecesor, The Murder Trial, the series aims to expose the mechanics of the British criminal justice system.
