UA authors shortlisted for Specsavers National Book Awards

This year, we are delighted to have six of our wonderful UA authors shortlisted for the Specsavers National Book Awards. Philip Pullman, bestselling author of THE BOOK OF DUST, has been nominated for Best UK Author. Erin Kelly has been shortlisted in the Crime and Thriller category for her book HE SAID/SHE SAID, which was also a Richard and Judy Book Club pick for 2018. On the children’s side, Sally Nicholls has been nominated for her suffragette YA novel, THINGS A BRIGHT GIRL CAN DO, and Jim Field has been nominated for THE SQUIRRELS WHO SQUABBLED, which he illustrated. In non-fiction we have Jack Monroe’s latest book of budget-friendly recipes, COOKING ON A BOOTSTRAP, and Benjamin Zephaniah’s long-awaited autobiography, THE LIFE AND RHYMES OF BENJAMIN ZEPHANIAH.

Congratulations to everyone shortlisted! The overall winners will be announced on November 20th in a ceremony presented by Zoe Ball. She will also announce the winner of her inaugural Book Club, which features Mike Gayle’s THE MAN I THINK I KNOW.
