The Unicorn sees double with THE PRINCE AND THE PAUPER
The Unicorn Theatre’s Christmas production, THE PRINCE AND THE PAUPER, has now opened, in a new adaptation by Jemma Kennedy (based on Mark Twain’s novel) directed by Selina Cartmell.
there is no didacticism in Jemma Kennedy’s theatre adaptation, neither does she pull her punches – the young audience is made fully aware of the desperation that attends hopeless lives – but the children drank it all in with rapt attention ...But this Prince and the Pauper also has high entertainment value. The success of Selina Cartmell’s light and supple production lies in its creation of a complete theatrical world.
