THE VILLAGE BIKE to ride into New York in 2014

The US Premiere of Penelope Skinner’s THE VILLAGE BIKE has been announced.

The production, to be directed by Sam Gold, will star Maggie Gyllenhaal as Becky, the newly pregnant and sexually frustrated newcomer to a quiet village where she rides dangerously into the lure of fantasy.

The play originally enjoyed a sell-out run at the Royal Court in the summer of 2011 winning the 2011 George Devine Award, the Charles Wintour Most Promising Playwright at the 2011 Evening Standard Theatre Awards.

Produced by MCC Theater, the US Premiere will open at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, New York, on 9^th June 2014.
