The CWA Daggers
Congratulations to Thomas Grant and Chris Brookmyre who have both been longlisted for the 2016 Crime Writers' Association Dagger Awards.
In the non-fiction category, Grant was longlisted for JEREMY HUTCHINSON'S CASE HISTORIES (John Murray):
'Thomas Grant has brought together Hutchinson's greatest legal hits, producing a fascinating episodic cultural history of post-war Britain that chronicles the end of deference and secrecy, and the advent of a more permissive society . . . Grant brings out the essence of each case, and Hutchinson's role, with clarity and wit' (Ben Macintyre, The Times)
And BLACK WIDOW (Little, Brown) sees Chris Brookmyre longlisted for a Goldsboro Gold award:
'Exceptionally good - a knotty mystery that's not just richly, provocatively political but one of the most perceptive excavations of a dysfunctional marriage I can remember reading.... Brookmyre plays a cunning, careful game' (Guardian)
The Crime Writers’ Association Daggers were founded in 1955 and have been synonymous with quality crime writing ever since.
