BIFA Nominations Announced
The nominations for the 2016 British Independent Film Awards have been announced, with UA clients being recognised in several categories.
Ken Loach's Palme d'Or winner I, DANIEL BLAKE leads the way with 7 nominations, including 'Best British Independent Film'. Hayley Squires plays the female lead and picks up 2 nominations for 'Best Actress' and 'Most Promising Newcomer'.
Rachel Tunnard's debut feature ADULT LIFE SKILLS has received 6 nominations in total, with Rachel picking up nominations for 'Best Screenplay', the 'Debut Screenwriter' award and the 'Douglas Hickox Award (Debut Director)'.
NOTES ON BLINDNESS starring UA's Dan Skinner has received 6 nominations, including 'Best British Independent Film'. Also nominated in this category is COUPLE IN A HOLE with costume design by Angela Billows.
Tom Cullen stars in BLACK MOUNTAIN POETS which is nominated for 'The Discovery Award'. A UNITED KINGDOM directed by Amma Asante picks up a nomination in the 'Best Supporting Actress' Category, as does OUR KIND OF TRAITOR directed by Susanna White.
The winners will be announced at the BIFA ceremony on December 4 at Old Billingsgate, hosted by Jennifer Saunders.
