Frann Preston-Gannon is an award-winning author and illustrator. She started working weekends in bookshops at 15 and her many years in that role gave her a deep passion for the world of children's books. She graduated in 2010 with a BA in illustration and in 2011 she became the first UK recipient of the 'Sendak Fellowship' and spent the Autumn of that year living with and learning from the great master of illustration, Maurice Sendak, at his home in Connecticut. Her first picture book, The Journey Home, was published just after that in 2012.

In 2018 she published the poetry book ‘I Am the Seed That Grew the Tree’ with Nosy Crow and in partnership with the National Trust. Comprised of 366 nature poems, one for ever day of the year, this book took over 2 years to illustrate and went on to be awarded many accolades including Waterstone’s Gift of the Year and Winner of the Big Red Book Awards. Julia Donaldson also named it her book of the year 2018.

Her other picturebooks include  There's a Rang-tan in my Bedroom, Dave's Cave and In the Swamp By The Light of the Moon.
