The McIlvanney Prize 2022 Finalists Announced
The finalists for The McIlvanney Prize 2022 have been announced, with Liam McIlvanney's THE HERETIC and Ambrose Parry's A CORRUPTION OF BLOOD among them. Congratulations to both! The winner will be announced on September 15th.
"An outstanding example of Tartan Noir [..] McIlvanney is a fine craftsman who knows just what he is doing and how to do." The Scotsman
“Liam McIlvanney’s The Heretic, sequel to his prize-winning The Quaker, is equally big, equally bold, even more impressive.” Mick Herron, Sydney Morning Herald
“An absolutely brilliant follow-up to THE QUAKER. McIlvanney is an enormous talent and his writing brims with compassion, lyricism and good old-fashioned thrills.” Adrian McKinty
“Brilliantly conceived, fiendishly plotted and immaculately realised, these thrillers pull off the most difficult double-whammy of all: beneath blood and butchery so real they almost stain the pages lie both heart and soul … Wherever Parry takes them, I’ll follow." Mick Herron
“[A] stellar third whodunit set in nineteenth-century Edinburgh … The integration of real history enhances a page-turning plot." Publishers Weekly (Starred Review)
“The ambience of mid-nineteenth-century Edinburgh is well captured and makes for a gripping read." Bookmunch
