Oliver Wellington is an actor and emerging writer from Rochdale, Greater Manchester.
As a writer, Oliver’s debut play, “A Lightweight Disposable Product” premiered at the VAULT Festival 2020 in London. The play explores the tumultuous life of punk icon Poly Styrene, the charismatic frontwoman of X-Ray Spex, exploring the experience of a mixed race woman entering the very white and male dominated punk movement.
As an actor, he has appeared in various TV shows award-winning shows such as “Rosie Molloy Gives Up Everything” (SKY/Hartswood Films), the BAFTA-winning “Juice” (BBC3), and “Brassic” (Sky One), among others.
Oliver’s writing spotlights diverse narratives, blending humour and drama as he draws from his working-class roots, growing up mixed-race in the North and challenging LGBTQIA+ stereotypes. Crafting stories that resonate deeply with underrepresented communities.
