Sallie Harmsen

Sallie is a household name in the Dutch film and television scene, and has a fast-growing international presence. She has been nominated twice for a Dutch Academy Award – once for IN REAL LIFE (HET ECHTE LEVEN) and again for THE SECRETS OF BARSLET (DE GEHEIMEN VAN BARSLET). 

Her international breakthrough came after featuring opposite Jared Leto in Denis Villeneuve’s BLADE RUNNER 2049. Since then, Sallie has starred in the short film DRAWBACK opposite Claes Bang,  Sky’s DEVILS, and feature film THE POSTCARD KILLINGS directed by Academy Award-winning Danis Tanovic.

She can most recently be seen in British true crime miniseries UNTIL I KILL YOU alongside Anna Maxwell Martin and Shaun Evans, as well as Videoland's MAXIMA.

Alongside her international projects, she has played many leading roles in several Dutch Netflix features - such as NOISE, THE WONDER WEEKS (OEI, IK GROEI!) and LINE OF FIRE (DE VUURLINIE) as well as Amazon Prime horror feature MOLOCH. She also starred in TV series SPHINX (DE SPHINX) and LEGACY (DE STAMHOUDER) by Diederik van Rooijen - the latter of which was nominated for a Prix D’Europe.

In addition to her screen work, Sallie has also worked extensively in theatre. She has appeared in productions such as JOAN OF ARC, MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM and OTHELLO. She also won a Zilveren Krekel, the most prestigious Dutch theatre award for her performance in POLLEKE.
