United Agents clients shortlisted for The Week Junior Awards and the Lollies

We are delighted to see so many United Agents clients appearing across two shortlists announced this week: The Week Junior Awards and the Lollies.

The Week Junior awards are run in partnership with the Bookseller and WHSmith, and all of the shortlisted books will be shared with The Week Junior readers and their families through a 12-week promotional campaign.

In the Children's Book of the Year: Fiction Older category we have ADVENTUREMICE: OTTER CHAOS, co-written and illustrated by Sarah McIntyre (and co-written by Philip Reeve). In Children's Graphic Novel of the Year, Jamie Smart is nominated for BUNNY VS MONKEY: MULTIVERSE MIX-UP. PIZZA PETE AND THE PERILOUS POTIONS, with illustrations by Sarah Horne, is nominated in the Children's Book of the Year: Fiction Younger category.

WELCOME TO OUR TABLE, written by Ed Smith and Lauren Mucha, and illustrated by Harriet Lynas, is nominated in the Non-fiction category. In the Picture Book category, Rob Biddulph is nominated for GIGANTIC, alongside THUNDERBOOTS, written by Naomi Jones. IZZY THE INVENTOR AND THE UNEXPECTED UNICORN, illustrated by Elissa Elwick, is nominated in the STEM category.

And finally, in the Children's Wellbeing Book of the Year category, we have MY FAMILY YOUR FAMILY, written by Laura Henry-Allain, and ROOTS OF HAPPINESS, written by Susie Dent.

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 30th September 2024.

The shortlists for the Laugh-Out-Loud awards, also known as the Lollies, were also announced this week. The Lollies celebrate the best in funny books for kids.

PANT!emonium, written by Peter Bently, is shortlisted in the Picture Book category, and BUNNY VS MONKEY: MACHINE MAYHEM by Jamie Smart is nominated in the 6-8 group. In the Poetry category, we have BLUE-FOOTED BOOBY by Rob Biddulph, OVER TO YOU, by Roger McGough, THE GECKO AND THE ECHO, illustrated by Jim Field, and THIS IS NOT A DINOSAUR, written by Barry Timms. Jim Field and Jamie Smart are both on the shortlist for Illustrator of the Year.

The overall winners will be announced in December 2024.
