ANNA SAWAI Wins Emmy for Lead Drama Actress

We are thrilled to share that Anna Sawai has won Best Actress in a Drama Series for “Shōgun,” at the 76th Emmy Awards. She has made history by becoming the first actor of Asian descent to ever win the Primetime Emmy Award for lead actress.

Sawai starred as Toda Mariko, a highborn woman with an important role to play in a brewing civil war among Japan’s ruling council of regents.

The FX series broke the record for the most wins by any show in a single season, taking home 18 awards in total, including Best Drama Series.

Huge congratulations to Anna and the whole Shōgun team!
