ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DAYS by Oliver Emanuel airs this Thursday

Oliver Emanuel’s last play ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DAYS will be airing on BBC Radio 4 at 2.15pm on Thursday 21st November.

In 2023, award winning dramatist Oliver Emanuel was part way through writing a new play for radio when something happened to him and he found he could no longer read. Tragically Oliver was then diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DAYS is his story: a powerful and poetic drama that is part audio play and part autobiography.

A man and a woman are caught in a rip tide, the life they might have had together - flashing in front of their eyes.

Another man and a woman are caught in an impossible situation, the life they have together - flashing in front of their eyes.

ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DAYS is drawn from THE GREAT WAVE, Oliver’s unfinished audio drama, and from ALL MY READING, his creative response to the experience of brain cancer, from which he passed away at the end of last year at the age of 43.

These two pieces of writing were edited together by Oliver’s partner Victoria Beesley and his long-time producer and collaborator Kirsty Williams. ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DAYS is a fitting tribute for a beloved client, who is much missed by his agent here Giles Smart.
