Hannah Bardell was the Member of Parliament for the Livingston Constituency for 9 years where she held front bench roles including Culture, Media, Sport & Business & Europe. Hannah chaired legislation committees and debates as a member of the panel of chairs and was a member of the council of Europe for 6 years. During her time as a MP she campaigned on a number of high profile issues including deaths abroad, the Primodos hormone pregnancy scandal and the rights of women and LGBTQ+ people. She is an outspoken advocate on women’s sport and football and plays with the Women’s Westminster Parliamentary football team- which landed her in the global press -after she did keepy-uppy’s in the House of Commons chamber with the team in their football strips during the Brexit votes.
Prior to being elected Hannah worked for GMTV as a TV producer; she ran the constituency office of Former First Minister Alex Salmond for 3 years- where she had to deal with Donald Trump and his golf development; for the US Dept of State during the wikileaks scandal and for 3 years in the energy sector where, amongst many other things she handled the emergency response for her company when they lost a colleague in a tragic helicopter accident off the coast of Shetland.
Hannah can offer a range of perspectives and reflections on life as a politician, working for one of the most high profile politicians in Europe and her time in TV and business.
Most recently Hannah has spoken at a number of corporate and after dinner events including the Burns Supper of the Society of Scottish Lawyer’s in London (delivering the reply to the toast to the lassies) and as the after dinner entertainment at the Windsor Castle summit of the Association of Project Management.
She is a regular commentator in the media - most recently on Sky, BBC, STV and a variety of Radio Programmes.
