Broadcast Awards 2013
This year's Broacast Awards are already upon us and United Agents has a whole host of clients involved in many of the productions nominated for awards.
'Elizabeth Taylor- Auction of a Lifetime' has been nominated for 'Best Documentary' in the upcoming Broadcast television awards.
The show was made possible by Elizabeth Taylor expert and UA client Curtis Dowling who got exclusive access to the Taylor estate. Curtis acted as a consultant for the Silver River production and filmed with contributors all over the world in locations such as LA, New York and Gstaad.
Some of Elizabeth Taylor’s most precious possessions were featured in landmark auctions in New York and London. With exclusive access to Christie’s, this feature-length documentary explored the Hollywood legend’s extraordinary life story through some of these possessions.
The film, broadcast on Channel 4 in 2012, brought the excitement of the auctions to life as millions of pounds were bid for the ‘Crown Jewels of Hollywood’. Each item of jewellery, art and haute couture provided a window into a key period of Taylor’s life.
Examining the people central to her life, including Joan Collins and Mickey Rooney, the film also gained access to Bulgari, Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels – Taylor’s favourite jewellery designers – plus Dior and Valentino, who created many of her extraordinary outfits.
Interviewing people who have never before spoken about their relationship with Taylor, this documentary told the definitive story of her life.
