Kate Saunders wins COSTA Children's Book Award 2014
Kate Saunders' wonderful novel FIVE CHILDREN ON THE WESTERN FRONT, published by Faber & Faber in October 2014, has been announced as the winner of the COSTA Children's Book Award 2014.
FIVE CHILDREN ON THE WESTERN FRONT is a touching follow-on from E. Nesbit's FIVE CHILDREN AND IT stories and returns to the children ten years later, when they're approaching adulthood and the Great War is looming. The Sand Fairy appears for the first time in years, but this time he is here with a purpose and his magic has a more serious intent.
