The Lady In The Van Opens

Alan Bennett’s THE LADY IN THE VAN, based on his bestselling memoir and original stage play, tells the story of Mary Shepherd, an eccentric woman who ‘temporarily’ parked her van on his drive for three months and stayed for fifteen years.

The film is produced by Damian Jones and Kevin Loader and directed by long term collaborator Nicholas Hytner.  Starring Dame Maggie Smith as Miss Shepherd and Alex Jennings as Alan Bennett and his alter ego AB, the cast includes James Corden, Dermot Crowley and Elliot Levey.

Shot by Andrew Dunn and edited by Tariq Anwar, the film features costumes by Natalie Ward and the work of composer George Fenton.
