Diane is a BAFTA nominated actor, writer and director.
Diane created, writes, directs and stars in comedy narrative ‘Mandy’. Following the success of the pilot that aired in 2019 a full series was commissioned and aired on BBC Two in August 2020, it was the highest rated comedy on the channel that summer. The second series was equally as successful and the BBC commissioned a third.
Diane is probably best known for her incarnation of professional dim-wit ‘Philomena Cunk’, who originated on ‘Charlie Brooker’s Weekly Wipe’. Due of the overwhelming popularity of the character the BBC commissioned two comedy specials fronted by Philomena; BAFTA nominated ‘Cunk on Shakespeare’; festive special ‘Cunk on Christmas’ then 5-part series ‘Cunk on Britain’ and most recently as series entitled ‘Cunk on Earth’. All critically acclaimed and aired on BBC Two.
Diane plays the regular role of Liz in critically acclaimed and BAFTA winning comedy series ‘Motherland’, the show is an audience favourite and in its third series for the BBC.
She also starred as Kath in Ricky Gervais’ hit comedy ‘After Life’, all 3 series are available on Netflix.
Diane played the regular role of Fiona in Series 1 and 2 of FRAYED (Sky/HBO Max), written by and starring Sarah Kendall, produced by Merman. Diane also starred in the Netflix comedy special ‘Death to 2020’ alongside Samuel L. Jackson, Hugh Grant and Lisa Kudrow, the special was exec produced by Charlie Booker and Annabel Jones. Due to the success of the first special ‘Death to 2021’ was released the following year, in which Diane also starred.
Other TV credits include, ‘Intelligence’ (Sky), ‘Cockfields’ (UKTV) and ‘Rovers’ (Sky).
