Christine Langan is a multi-BAFTA winning producer for film and television, with both Oscar and Golden Globe nominations for her work.

After graduating from Gonville & Caius College, Cambridge, in 1987 with a BA in English Literature, Christine began working as a copywriter, freelance magazine journalist, and cinema critic for Radio 2’s ‘Cinema Two’. Her first job in television was as development assistant at British Screen, leading to a script editing job for Granada Drama Serials in Manchester, before moving to Granada Television’s Comedy department in 1993, where she developed the hit show Cold Feet.

From 2002, Christine began developing drama for Granada, developing an extensive television portfolio and going on to produce The Queen, which won the BAFTA for Best Film, was nominated for Best Picture at the 2007 Academy Awards, and earned Helen Mirren her first Oscar for Best Actress. In 2006, Christine took up a new role as Executive Producer for BBC Films.

In 2009 she became the Creative Director of BBC Films, going on to produce a slew of award-winning films including Philomena, Brooklyn, An Education, Saving Mr Banks, Fish Tank, Bright Star and Pride. In 2016, she left the BBC to become the CEO of Steve Coogan’s production company, Baby Cow Productions. Following four years at the helm, she stepped down in 2020 to start her own production company, Bonnie Productions, which is currently set to release its first feature project, ‘Hot Milk’ based on Deborah Levy’s Booker Prize winning novel later this year.
