Martin Sterling

Martin Sterling has been a professional writer most of his adult life. Starting out as journalist, including a long spell as a BBC Arts Correspondent, he has subsequently published 5 books, one of which - Morecambe and Wise: Behind The Sunshine - was a Sunday Times bestseller. But it is his work as part of the BAFTA winning writing team of the UK’s longest-running and best-loved programme, Coronation Street, for which he is best known. Apart from the creator, Tony Warren, and the composer, Eric Spear, Martin is the most credited member of the production team in the history of the show, having written and storylined almost 4,500 episodes. He is also the writer of the stage play Framed.
