Born in London, Sandra spent an idyllic childhood in Cyprus before returning to England to live by the sea in Hastings with her family. A hungry reader and avid story writer, her school report from those days describes her as having a 'vivid imagination'.

Keen to become a journalist and be paid to write for a living, she landed her dream job as a trainee reporter on the local paper. She moved on to be News Editor before becoming a police press officer.

With young children in tow, Sandra switched careers to work in special needs education. Surrounded by story books in the classroom once more (and suffering keyboard withdrawal symptoms) she returned to her first love – fiction writing - and found her imagination was just as vivid.
