Shadi Hamta is a Writer/Director.
Shadi’s original comedy-drama pilot, BLUE ANIMALS, received special praise at the Thousand Films New Writers Competition 2019 held by Sid Gentle Films. She was also shortlisted for the 4stories Scheme at Channel 4 Talent with her TV pilot script CREATION.
Shadi was part of the Soho Theatre Writers' Lab, developing her original play, LALI, and is a previous participant on the Royal Court Writers’ programme. She is also a writer on GIRLS CAN'T SHOOT (& OTHER LIES) for Mark Gordon Pictures, an anthology series with an all-star cast based on Don’t Wear Pink (and Other Lies), curated by Scarlett Curtis. Most recently, she's in development for her original rom-com feature, THE GO BACK, with Mark Gordon Pictures.
Prior to working as a writer, she worked as a freelance script editor and reader for Monumental Pictures, Studio Canal and Working Title and has a BA in Creative Writing from UEA.
