Amy is a BAFTA nominated writer and director based between London and Edinburgh. With an eye for detail and a strong visual style, her ability to create intense thriller sequences, elicit exquisite performances and incredible action scenes have brought her both personal praise and critical acclaim. She is currently directing the finale of political thriller THE CHOICE, written by Matt Charman for NETFLIX/Binocular Productions, starring Julie Delpy and Suranne Jones.

Amy started her career working on films in Tokyo, while studying film and Japanese at Nihon University. Her early films traveled to major international festivals and received multiple awards, including BAFTA and BIFA nominations and a Scottish BAFTA win for her first film, CAN’T STOP BREATHING, which was described by Alan Rickman as a ‘twelve minute masterclass.’ Further shorts include ICICLE MELT, with Greta Scacchi in Sweden, and THE CHILD, an adaptation of the short story by award winning author Ali Smith.

Amy's previous TV credits include critically acclaimed thriller THE CONTROL ROOM for BBC 1/ Hartswood Films, action thriller HANNA for Working Title Television /Amazon/NBC and the finale of BBC thriller TRUST ME with Jodie Whittaker.

Amy is drawn to genre with a specific interest in thrillers, action, psychological horror and the female grotesque. She enjoys collaborating with writers and is developing various TV series including THE MISSING MISSING with NBC and revered Scottish author Kirsty Logan and a psychological thriller with Hartswood Films and writer Amanda Duke.  She also has several films in development including her debut feature film, AFTER MARTHA, a psychological horror with funding from Creative England/BFI.
