Lou’s plays include SCOLD (Separate Doors, Writing Tomorrow’s Theatre), BREED (Theatre 503, shortlisted for the Meyer Whitworth Award) and HUNDREDS AND THOUSANDS (Soho Theatre). She is published by Nick Hern Books. She has been on attachment at the Royal Court, Theatre 503, and the National Theatre Studio.
For TV she has written episodes of preschool comedy-drama BIFF AND CHIP (CBeebies) and THE BEAKER GIRLS (CBBC), as well as crime drama RED ROCK. She is a graduate of the BBC Writersroom TV Drama Writers' Programme, on which she was paired with Kudos Film and TV to develop an idea for an original series.
She’s also written extensively for BBC Radio 4, including six installments of TINSEL GIRL (based on the life experiences of actor Cherylee Houston), and DOS AND DON’TS FOR THE MENTALLY INTERESTING (winner of a Mind Mental Health Media Award). She’s originally from Birmingham and now lives in London.
