2015 BAFTA Film Award nominations announced
Steven Fry and Sam Claflin have revealed the nominees for the 2015 BAFTA awards.
In the Best Leading Actress category, Julianne Moore and Rosamund Pike have received nominations for their respective performances in STILL ALICE and GONE GIRL. Eddie Redmayne’s turn as Stephen Hawking in THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING has garnered him a nomination in the Best Leading Actor category. In the Best Supporting Actress category, Keira Knightley is nominated for her work in THE IMITATION GAME.
Steven Noble and Jan Sewell join Eddie Redmayne in having received nominations for their work on THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING. Steven Noble is nominated in the Best Costume Design category while Jan Sewell is nominated in the Best Make-Up and Hair category. Lizzie Yianni Georgiou has also received a nomination in the Best Make-Up and Hair category for her work on GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. Sammy Sheldon Differ received a nomination for her work designing the costumes for THE IMITATION GAME. Barney Pilling edited the GRAND BUDAPEST HOTEL and received a nomination for his efforts. Suzie Davies is nominated for her work as the production designer on MR. TURNER.
Hong Khaou has been nominated for a BAFTA in the Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer category for LILTING. Hong Khaou both wrote and directed LILTING, for which Stuart Earl composed the music and Camille Benda designed the costumes.
BOOGALOO & GRAHAM, directed by Michael Lennox with music by Jered Sorkin received a nomination in the Best British Short Film category. EMOTIONAL FUSEBOX is also nominated in the Best British Short Film category. It is written, directed and edited by Rachel Tunnard.
TRASH, written by Richard Curtis, received a nomination for Best Film Not in the English Language. 20,000 DAYS ON EARTH is nominated for Best Documentary. The film depicts a fictional day in the life of Nick Cave. VIRUNGA, produced by Grain Media and executive produced by Jon Drever, also received a nomination for Best Documentary.
The winners will be announced during a ceremony on the 8th of February at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden.
