The Offies 2018 - Nominations Announced!

The OFFIES (Off West End Theatre Awards) have begun announcing their nominations and we are delighted to see so many UA clients in the mix! The awards aim to recognise and celebrate the excellence, innovation and ingenuity of independent theatres across London. 

Nominated for Best Supporting Actor in a Play is Tom Rhys Harries for his performance in The Pitchfork Disney, and Danny-Boy Hatchard for Eyes Closed, Ears Covered.

Katie Bonna and Alex Gwyther are both up for Most Promising New Playwright for All The Things I Lied About and Eyes Closed, Ears Covered respectively.

An Octoroon; starring Alistair Toovey and with lighting by Elliot Griggs and sound design by George Dennis and Trouble In Mind, with Design by Polly Sullivan are both nominated for Best Production.

Nominated for Best Director is Audrey Sheffield, for The Dark Room at Theatre503.

Hair is up for Best Musical Production, directed by Jonathan O’Boyle.

Lucy McCormick is nominated for the TBC Award for her Triple Threat show at Soho Theatre.

Home Truths is nominated for Best Ensemble, featuring Design by James Turner and Lighting by Elliot Griggs.

George Dennis is up for Best Sound on two productions, for Guards at the Taj and Killer, shared with Max & Ben Ringham.

Up for Best New Musical is Death Takes A Holiday, which played at Charing Cross Theatre and was directed by Thom Southerland.

Lily Arnold is nominated for Best Set Design for Room at Theatre Royal Stratford East, David Plater is also up Best Lighting for his work on the production.

The Life has also been nominated for Musical Production and Best New Musical, directed by Michael Blakemore.

Finally, the Orange Tree Theatre received a total of 10 nominations, with our Artistic Director Paul Miller at the helm.

The winners will be announced at a ceremony at The Albany, Deptford on Sunday 4 March.
